1. Intellectual Property & Trademarks

WC3Map is an independent archive established to preserve custom game scenarios created for Warcraft III.

  • Blizzard Entertainment Trademarks: Warcraft, Warcraft III, The Frozen Throne, Warcraft III: Reforged, Battle.net, and Blizzard Entertainment are trademarks or registered trademarks of Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. in the U.S. and/or other countries. WC3Map is an independent archive and is not endorsed by, sponsored by, or affiliated with Blizzard Entertainment.
  • Custom Map Authorship: The custom maps, scenarios, custom models, custom sound effects, and gameplay scripts cataloged or hosted on this site are the creative works of their respective community authors and modders.

2. Filing a DMCA Takedown Notice

WC3Map respects the intellectual property rights of creators and copyright owners. In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512(c)), copyright holders or authorized representatives may request the removal of infringing content.

To be legally effective, your written notification must be sent to our copyright contact (dmca@wc3map.com) and include the following elements:

  1. Identification of the Copyrighted Work: A description of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or proof of original authorship of the map, scenario, or custom asset.
  2. Identification of the Material to be Removed: The exact URL(s) on wc3map.com where the disputed content is located (e.g., https://wc3map.com/maps/example-group/example-version-12345/). Generic descriptions or search query results are insufficient.
  3. Contact Information: Your name and a reply email address (mailing address and telephone number are optional).
  4. Statement of Good Faith: A statement that you have a good faith belief that the disputed use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  5. Statement of Accuracy Under Penalty of Perjury: A statement made under penalty of perjury that the information in your notification is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
  6. Signature: A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the copyright interest.

4. Review & Takedown Procedure

Upon receiving a notification at our copyright contact mailbox, notices are reviewed, and the identified map version, binary download, and standalone page are removed when the notice is valid.
