Info for Newbies
General Information about the Elements and How to Play Select a Governor. Each has the ability to commission four types of builders plus a hybrid builder that can build anything (for a higher cost). When you elect a governor, the primary builder is always immediately summoned. Every subsequent builder requires a piece of lumber, which you obtain after every 5th level. Here is a list of the 10 elements and their primary functions: Human - Cheap towers that take very little time to build Magic - Offers various special abilities including Stun and Dispel Magic Fire - Has a focus on splash damage Ice - Slows enemies down with ice attacks Thunder - Has the longest range of all towers Poison - Primary abilities include Slow Poison and Disease Cloud, also focuses on Chaos damage Death - Has numerous special abilities such as Hex and negative auras Holy - Buildings are twice as resistant to attackers, gain bonuses against the Undead, and have special defensive abilities Earth - Durable towers with strong single-target damage, and the only element with the Gold Mine for bonus income Wind - Fast-attacking towers that excel against air units

Commands
Commands: -sell - Sells all selected units for 50% of their cost. Governors, Technology buildings, Hybrid base structures, and Burbenog Outposts may not be sold. -give - Transfers money in amounts less than 100 to your allies. The correct usage is "-give xx yy". xx is the number of the player you are giving the money. yy is the amount of gold you wish to transfer. -cede - Transfers control of a tower or group of towers. The correct usage is "-cede xx." Towers that can't be sold can't be ceded either. xx is the number of the player to whom you are transfering your towers. -lumber - Use this to give one piece of lumber to an ally. The usage is identical to -cede, "-lumber xx". This is useful if you have more than one piece of lumber but don't want to give it all away. -off - This command is used to turn off the autocasting of the spells of certain towers, like the Firestorm Caster and the Quake Tower. This works like -sell in that only selected selected units will be affected. -kick - Red only. Removes a player from the game. The usage is "-kick xx", where xx is teal, blue, or purple. -autobal off - Turns off autobalance, which is now enabled by default. Any player can use this, and it cannot be turned back on. -global tech off - Red only. Turns off shared technology, which is now enabled by default. -borrow - Borrows gold against your future income. Your borrow limit now grows each round. Borrowing is disabled during the final round.
Secret Coms.

A player may change the time of day only once every 20 minutes. -blood - Changes the outer rivers to flow with red blood instead of water. Type -water to change it back. -die villagers - Try this as an alternate ending after you win the game. -die infernals - Try this as an alternate ending after you lose the game. -paint - Alters the color of a selected creep. The syntax is "-paint xxx yyy zzz", with xxx representing the red value, yyy the green value, and z

Equations
This section contains the equations for the Temple of Death and Phase Disruptor, in case you want to know how effective they really are down the road. There is also a small bit of information about the Gold Mine. Temple of Death Chance of Death = (45 - Level)% So at Level 20, it has a 25% chance of killing the target, and at Level 40, it has a 5% chance. Phase Disruptor If Level <= 20 Enemy's life reduced by 50% of its current life. If Level > 20 Enemy's life reduced by (90 - 2*Level)% So at Level 20, it reduces the target's life by 50%, and at Level 40, it reduces it by 10%. Gold Mine Bonus Gold = 2 * Level Net Profit* = 2 * (Sum of Levels from current to 39) - 500 LoP = Level of Purchase LoP Profit (after round 39) 36 -200 31 130 26 410 21 640 16 820 *Assumes that the Gold Mine will not be sold. Notes on Hybrid
Notes on the Hybrid element: Hybrid base towers cannot be ceded nor sold. Selling upgraded Hybrid towers will only give you the gold for the cost of that tower normally, not the total amount you paid to build it. You do not have enough food to summon even one hero. Yes, this is intentional. All Hybrid base towers, including the Technology Structure, are made of very cheap materials and will easily crumble when attacked. The Hybridizer is necessary in order to construct cross-tech towers and is an upgrade to the Technology Structure. There's no reason to get an Intermediate or Advanced Tower until you have at least one of the technology structures. Even though you are allowed to construct them before you have one, you won't be able to upgrade them until you have the necessary technology. Don't use hotkeys for upgrading Hybrid towers because many of them overlap. All Transmuters morph at the same time, every 40 seconds, so it may take anywhere from 1 to 39 seconds after building one for i
Notes on Hero
Notes on the Hero element: There's no reason to construct a Paladins' Guild until you have at least 1 Hero. Altars cannot be ceded nor sold. Heroes will gain slightly more than twice as much experience as normal. This allows you to get higher level Heroes much earlier in the game. Hero's main form of True Sight is the Gem of True Seeing sold at the Paladins' Guild. Also, the Keeper of the Grove and Priestess of the Sky have abilities that enable them to see invisible units. The Morale Booster can only cast spells on nearby Heroes when it is attacking enemies. Corpses for the Death Knight's Raise Dead are generated at the Altar of Destruction. Be careful with Death and Decay as it may kill your Heroes!

Several entries had to be disqualified for one reason or another. Playing an unofficial version such as "high bounty", not answering follow-up e-mails, the usage of exploits caused by patch bugs (such as Stinko Man's Acid Vomit perma-stun), and insufficient evidence that victory was achieved fairly all can disqualify an entry. There's also the possibility that I lost an entry or it never made it to my inbox. In those cases, I am sorry. This will be my last update to the hall of fa
Lordaeron Edition V1.0
Burbenog Lordaeron Edition V1.0 Changelog Enemies now loop around their spawn corner before continuing along their route. Enemies no longer collide with each other and move at slightly varied speeds, reducing pileups at corners. Added a background check that frees any enemy whose orders fail. Collision remains active for siege units so they interact with your base normally. Governors can now commission a Hybrid builder in addition to their four standard builders. Added -kick Autobalance is now enabled by default. Global tech sharing is now enabled by default. Your borrow limit now grows 2% each round instead of shrinking in the late game. Borrowing is available until the final round, which displays a message explaining the restriction. Added 10% interest on gold held at the end of each round, replacing the smaller interest bonus. Gold per kill now scales with round number and difficulty -H enemy health scaling is now flat, not curved Reduced player handicap in -H difficulties Rebalanced tower build times by tier. Endowed Expert now begins at round 1 like every other difficulty. Three-player games now detect which corner is actually empty Swapped Teal and Purple icons in the cede menu. The round announcement now displays the correct enemy count. Fixed several typos in in-game messages. Removed an obsolete system that ran on every enemy kill.
Thank You Shvegait
Thank you, Shvegait. gor creating Burbenog TD. This map has been played for over twenty years because of the solid foundation. Everything added since stands on that work. The map began as a beta in early 2003 with a handful of towers and grew into the ten-element system it uses today. Version 1.0 arrived that April. Version 2.0 in July 2003 moved the map to The Frozen Throne and reworked air pathing. Later releases added Hero and Hybrid governors, expert difficulty, the cede system, secret commands, and a long series of balance passes touching nearly every tower in the game. Version 2.2 rebuilt the pathing and siege systems, removing over a hundred triggers and cutting load times. Version 2.27 introduced spawn invulnerability and the secret difficulty unlocked by beating hard. Version 2.31 added the cede button and tooltip range information. Version 2.32, released in July 2005, was the final official version. See the Original Changelog pages for the complete version-by-version history.

Version 2.21 (1/30/04) - Reduced memory leaks. Modified repair abilities to stop powerbuilding. Version 2.2 (1/19/04) - Reworked pathing and siege systems, removing over 100 triggers for smaller file size and faster loads. Fixed a cede exploit involving governors and tech structures. Version 1.0 (4/19/03) - First full release.
Original Changelog Beta
Beta versions 0.3 through 0.9 ran from March 24 to April 18, 2003, covering roughly one month of development before the 1.0 release. Version 0.9 (4/18/03) - Lives reintroduced as the loss condition. Level 35 became an invisible level. Magic Vault item costs significantly reduced. The betas established the core of the map: the ten elements, the four-corner layout, the tower tech progression, and the lumber system. Much of the balance work from this period went undocumented, as the update log was wiped when 1.0 released.
