Info for Newbies
General Information about the Elements and How to Play
Select a Governor. Each has the ability to commission four types of builders. When you elect a governor, the primary builder is always immediately summoned. Every subsequent builder requires a piece of lumber, which you obtain after every 5th level. Here is a list of the 10 elements and their primary functions:
Human - Cheap towers that take very little time to build
Magic - Offers various special abilities including Stun and Dispel Magic
Fire - Has a focus on splash damage
Ice - Slows enemies down with ice attacks
Thunder - Has the longest range of all towers
Poison - Primary abilities include Slow Poison and Disease Cloud, also focuses on Chaos damage
Death - Has numerous special abilities such as Hex and negative auras
Holy - Buildings are twice as resistant to attackers, gain bonuses against the Undead, and have special defensive abilities
Earth - Very powerful against land units and has a focus on Siege damage
Wind - Has the best anti-air towers and the fastest firing towers
Heroes:
Each element has one Hero that can be trained at its technology building. You can only get one Hero, but their skills can be very useful.

Commands
Commands:
-sell - Sells all selected units for 50% of their cost. Governors, Technology buildings, Hybrid base structures, and Burbenog Outposts may not be sold.
-give - Transfers money in amounts less than 100 to your allies. The correct usage is "-give xx yy".
xx is the number of the player you are giving the money.
yy is the amount of gold you wish to transfer.
-cede - Transfers control of a tower or group of towers. The correct usage is "-cede xx." Towers that can't be sold can't be ceded either.
xx is the number of the player to whom you are transfering your towers.
-lumber - Use this to give one piece of lumber to an ally. The usage is identical to -cede, "-lumber xx". This is useful if you have more than one piece of lumber but don't want to give it all away.
-off - This command is used to turn off the autocasting of the spells of certain towers, like the Firestorm Caster and the Quake Tower. This works like -sell in that only selected towers are affected. Also, this only affects towers that have spells that are automatically cast with a trigger (but not towers' special trigger effects like the Phase Disruptor) Use this if you would like to manually cast spells.
-on - Use this command to turn back on any towers that were set to off.
-tip - Disables/Enables the tips that appear every other level. There are 40 tips in all.
Secret Coms.
Master List of Secret Commands:
-random - Randomly elects a governor. Only works at the start of a game.
-smack - Smacks someone who is pissing you off. The syntax is "-smack xx", where xx is the number of the player you wish to smack.
-night - Sets the time to midnight (0:00).
-dusk - Sets the time to dusk (18:00).
-day - Sets the time to dawn (6:00).
-cycle - Initiates the natural day/night cycle (at 2x speed).
A player may change the time of day only once every 20 minutes.
-blood - Changes the outer rivers to flow with red blood instead of water. Type -water to change it back.
-die villagers - Try this as an alternate ending after you win the game.
-die infernals - Try this as an alternate ending after you lose the game.
-paint - Alters the color of a selected creep. The syntax is "-paint xxx yyy zzz", with xxx representing the red value, yyy the green value, and zzz the blue value. Values range from 000 to 255.
-psave - Saves a color combination for easy usage. The syntax is "-psave xxx yyy zzz #", with xxx, yyy, and zzz representing exactly what they represent in -paint, and the # (from 0 to 9) representing a slot to save the color combination.
-p - Paints a creep using a color combo saved with -psave. The syntax is "-p#", with the # representing the slot from which to load the color combo.
-commandsall - Allows this quest log entry to be viewed!

Equations
This section contains the equations for the Temple of Death and Phase Disruptor, in case you want to know how effective they really are down the road. There is also a small bit of information about the Gold Mine.
Temple of Death
Chance of Death = (45 - Level)%
So at Level 20, it has a 25% chance of killing the target, and at Level 40, it has a 5% chance.
Phase Disruptor
If Level <= 20
Enemy's life reduced by 50% of its current life.
If Level > 20
Enemy's life reduced by (90 - 2*Level)%
So at Level 20, it reduces the target's life by 50%, and at Level 40, it reduces it by 10%.
Gold Mine
Bonus Gold = 2 * Level
Net Profit* = 2 * (Sum of Levels from current to 39) - 500
LoP = Level of Purchase
LoP Profit (after round 39)
36 -200
31 130
26 410
21 640
16 820
*Assumes that the Gold Mine will not be sold. Including round 40 and sell price, add 330 to the values in the table. You can still make a profit from a gold mine bought at level 36.
Notes on Hybrid
Notes on the Hybrid element:
Hybrid base towers cannot be ceded nor sold.
Selling upgraded Hybrid towers will only give you the gold for the cost of that tower normally, not the total amount you paid to build it.
You do not have enough food to summon even one hero. Yes, this is intentional.
All Hybrid base towers, including the Technology Structure, are made of very cheap materials and will easily crumble when attacked.
The Hybridizer is necessary in order to construct cross-tech towers and is an upgrade to the Technology Structure.
There's no reason to get an Intermediate or Advanced Tower until you have at least one of the technology structures. Even though you are allowed to construct them before you have one, you won't be able to upgrade them until you have the necessary technology.
Don't use hotkeys for upgrading Hybrid towers because many of them overlap.
All Transmuters morph at the same time, every 40 seconds, so it may take anywhere from 1 to 39 seconds after building one for it to become another tower.
It is best to familiarize yourself with the elements and towers before trying Hybrid.
Oftentimes it is better to revert your towers to their base form rather than to sell them. Not only do you retain the base tower, but also you receive more gold than if you sell it. This does, however, require you to research the Revert Tower at the Hybridizer. Use the -revert command or Rever button to revert towers. Revert also works on Technology structures except the Hybridizer.
Notes on Hero
Notes on the Hero element:
There's no reason to construct a Paladins' Guild until you have at least 1 Hero.
Altars cannot be ceded nor sold.
Heroes will gain slightly more than twice as much experience as normal. This allows you to get higher level Heroes much earlier in the game.
Hero's main form of True Sight is the Gem of True Seeing sold at the Paladins' Guild. Also, the Keeper of the Grove and Priestess of the Sky have abilities that enable them to see invisible units.
The Morale Booster can only cast spells on nearby Heroes when it is attacking enemies.
Corpses for the Death Knight's Raise Dead are generated at the Altar of Destruction.
Be careful with Death and Decay as it may kill your Heroes!

Think you should be included in this list but aren't? Several entries had to be disqualified for one reason or another. Playing an unofficial version such as "high bounty", not answering follow-up e-mails, the usage of exploits caused by patch bugs (such as Stinko Man's Acid Vomit perma-stun), and insufficient evidence that victory was achieved fairly all can disqualify an entry. There's also the possibility that I lost an entry or it never made it to my inbox. In those cases, I am sorry.
This will be my last update to the hall of fame. Thanks everyone for participating :)
Editor's Version
Editor's Version
This version is unlocked so that you can see the triggers and edit the map. I have also added comments to many of the triggers so that you can better understand them.
One thing you may want to do is put Hero and Hybrid back into the map, and this I have made very easy to do. Simply open the Object Editor, look for Human - Melee - Structures - Governor Chooser. Then, go all the way down to "Techtree - Upgrades to". Add Lisk and Uther to this list (They can be found in Human - Custom). The rest is taken care of already. All triggers for these races are in place.
Please note that there are 2 secrets that I removed from v2.32. The reason for this should be obvious... they are secrets! Of course I have left all of the secret commands from v2.27 and previous available. Feel free to add your own secret commands :)
Version 2.32
Version 2.32 (7/11/05)
This will likely be my last version of Burbenog TD. Thank you everyone for the support, comments, suggestions, and e-mails over the past 2+ years. They really meant a lot!
General Changes:
Removed Hero and Hybrid governors. They are nearly impossible to balance with the rest of the map.
You are now limited to 1 builder of each type. This is so you don't accidentally waste a lumber.
Slightly modified the victory and defeat endings.
Fixed the shadows of many towers to somewhat more accurately reflect the size and shape of the towers.
Added a new secret found by completing expert difficulty...
Balance Chances:
Aerial Shackler damage doubled and mana regeneration fixed.
Some expert difficulty creeps life increased.
Ancient of Lore damage increased.
Several minor changes dealing with Heroes.
Several minor other tower balance changes.

Version 0.8
Beta Version 0.8
Added Siege levels. They are levels 19, 27, 34, and 37. Beware, they will attack your towers! One of your best defenses against Siege attackers is the Holy element, which can build towers resistant to enemy attackers. Also, any ability that slows attack rate or lowers damage can be very beneficial. In the case that they attack your Hero, abilities like Inner Fire, Frost Armor, etc. could find some use here. Still, the best way to deal with these enemies is just to kill them and kill them quickly.
Sorry, there is no way to sell, cede, or repair damage buildings in the middle of a level. If a building survives to the end of a level and is a completed structure, it will be fully repaired and can then be sold/ceded.
In the unlikely that all of your towers in an area will be wiped out, know that Siege attackers turn inward at their first opportunity; they do not travel to all players' starting locations. Keep this in mind when deciding where to build your towers. Also, towers built on elevated cliffs are immune to attackers, but need to have long range to be effective. Attackers will not go after very out of the way towers.
Siege attackers only spawn in areas where a governor is alive. So if you start at teal and decide to build at blue, the attackers will still originate at teal and will turn inward before they get to blue's area. Sorry about the inconvenience if this situation ever comes up. I'll try to think of some way around it, but for now, that is how it is, so deal with it!
Modified some hero abilities slightly.
Fixed a glaring bug with Celestial Winds.
Priest of Quel'Thalas' Spirit Form much faster and stronger now.
