How to deal with..
...Invisible Units: Ways to reveal them : Gyrocopter, Dust of Appreance, Crytsal Ball, (Arcane) Tower(s), Sentry Ward of a Tuskarr Trapper ...Summoned Units: Orb of Lightning, Wand of Negation, Troll High Priest (Dispel Magic), Voidwalker/Ancient Faerie Dragon/Skull of the Man'ari (Devour Magic) and Dark Wizard (Purge), deal huge damage to them. Note that units created by Animate Dead can be dispelled aswell. ...a base with Fire Orb/Searing Blade: The Gyro Copters Cloud can be used to significantly slow down the attackspeed of the base. With the way fire splash works, try to make few strong units instead of many small and try to split thier positioning. Sindragosa can freeze and disable buildings entirely. ...Air Units: Nether Dragons deal splash damage to air units. Tuskarr Trapper can ensnare them so they can be killed. ...a Hero with Items: Slow him down with the Voidwalker's spells and try to kill his base with a Masterscroll. Make sure that you kill his items after! ...a Frozen Spellbook user: If you destroy his Pedestal of Frost Magic, he can't use the skills until he builds a new one. Another way to stop him is the Silence skill of a Dark Wizard. Also you can protect your hero from his nuke with Runed Bracers/Mystical Diamond. Note that Armor Upgrades give your units 5% resistance to spell damage.

Quick Start Guide
Welcome to Hero Push! Income and XP for kills are evenly shared with your ally. Sell your Boots of Speed --> upgrade to tier 1 OR Buy a worker at the Creep Camp --> build a mercenary center --> purchase the Outlaw contract. Then start upgrading damage, armor and life before tier 2. Continue by mixing upgrading units, base and getting contracts. Later you should check out the other quests and tooltips(!) to discover all the different aspects of this game!
Hero
Your Hero is your most important tool to kill units--> make gold and push the enemy base. To get the maximum value out of your Hero make sure it has synergy with your units! For example : Brilliance Aura with Naga or Bloodelf race / Death Coils with Undead or Demon race. If your hero has skills like Cleaving Attack, Critical Strike or Pulverize u may choose to win the game with items. Another way to improve the power of Strength and Agility based Heroes is discovering the secrets in the Altar of Storms, meanwhile Intelligence based heroes can use the Frozen Spellbook. For more informations look into the Hero Build and Item Quests. Hotkey system : Q W E R / (D for Attribute Bonus, special abilities and Shadowmeld)
Units
Main Base Units 20% of your units are under your control. The Unit Cap for all controllable Units is 500 (non-controllable 500) and each unit uses 4-6 food. The top right corner shows the total supply of your controlable units and the -info command of your total non-controlables. Collect a decent sized army to push for the win. Support from Creeps and Items will increase your chance to succeed! Mercenary Units There are 28 different mercenary units of which you can add 4 to your basic unit spawn. The Stolen Contract upgrade can increase the limit by 1 (max. +2). Unless you specifically need an ability, make sure that the unit fits in your race upgrade! Creeps These can be hired at the Creep Camp which you can find next to the item shops (--> Creep Camp Quest). Summoned Units Creeps and Summoned Units can be upgraded with multiple upgrades from the Research Center. Intelligence based Heroes can use the Arcane Spellbook (--> Items Quest) to create an army of Summoned Units. Hotkey system : Q W E R Mechanical Units The Ship Factory allows you to construct powerful ships to support your forces. Note that Mechanical Units are immune to a fair amount of spells!
Creep Camp
Here you can hire powerful units that can handle every situation. Important creeps are : Worker : This units most important quest is to build you the different centers in order to buy additional mercenary units and more upgrades! It also builds the shop with the most powerful items! Troll High Priest : Use him to dispel buffs and summoned units and also support your army with healing wards. Dark Mage : Purge can be used to deal with buffs/debuffs of your enemies like Hex and Lightning Shield. Silence might save your day when you can't stop other heroes from channeling with your own. Storm Reaver : This caster is made to support a hero that goes for items. Heal your hero with Rejuvenation while it deals damage with Lightningshield. Kodo Beats, Ice Troll Warlord and Battle Tank support your army with auras while defending or pushing.
Summoning Stone
The Summoning Stone contains powerful hero creeps to help you win the game. A worker can build this after the timer in the top right corner expired. Khan Gragtor and the Bloodelf Artifact have strong Auras to support your unit play style. All units are yet to be optimized, the goal is to make them good at supporting or countering specific strategies.
Main Base & Upgrades
There are 8 different races, each has 5 tiers and it's own race upgrade. When your main base dies you lose the game so make sure it's well protected because basefocus is a valid strategy to win the game. In order to do so use the 2 Item slots in your base (for ex. with a Potion of Invulnerabitily) and workers with autorepair on. An Orb of Fire will cause your base to deal splash damage that will help you defend in the early/mid game. Notice that your main base gives an aura that restores the mana and life points of your hero and increases the armor of all nearby friendly units by 5. Remember towers are a great way to defend your base but they are not going to help you to push the enemy base and win! You can gain an advantage by observing the damage and armor types of your and the enemy units. In that sense sometimes it's better to stick on a tier and invest more gold into upgrades. Make a balance between tier upgrades, additional units and general upgrades. Tier one with 12 damage upgrades or tier 4 with almost no upgrades won't work well!!! More Upgrades can be found in the Research Center and War Mill.
Hero Builds (Part 1/3)
General Informations Only one hero per team should go for items, since you still need units to push and as a meat shield. Therefore you should support your ally by buying the Orb of Persererance for him. The movement speed of the auras will also help you get hero kills (lifesteal is also very important for melee heores, if you need more, look for a Staff of Blessings). Mobility is very important, so after getting your first key item, you should consider to buy a Staff of Teleportation and upgrade your Boots of Speed to a Stalker's Amulet. Agility or strength based heroes can discover the secrets in the Altar of Storms to get stronger. Certain heroes struggle in the early and mid game. A away around this is to first upgrade units and then transition into a Hero build (this is also more resilliant to basekills). Note that the bounty for your hero will be increased for each research in the Altar of Storms, Pedestal of Frost Magic and each item you carry (5% of their total cost). A Dark Mage from the Creep Camp can be very helpful to move around the map invisble, searching for easy kills and securing them with the slow effect of Purge. The 'How to deal with...' Quest describes ways to protect your base from a snipe.
Hero Builds (Part 2/3)
Strength As a strength hero, you want to be the tank for your ally's units, while also dealing decent damage. The best starting item is the Cloak of Flames and it's upgraded version. After Crown of Life into Crown of Vitality is a good choise. Now that you are tanky enough you might look for more damage output like a Searing Blade or The Fire Reaper. Staff of the Phoenix is also a valid option if you need more mana and it also stacks with the cloak. Pulverise stacks with Searing Blade and Cleaving Attack has good synergie with The Fire Reaper's armor reduction. Agility Most agility based heroes are designed to kill enemy heroes, in order to get a gold and level advantage to win the game. The best item to start with is Charm of the Wind and then upgrading it to Fury of the Wind. After you can decide to go for a legendary weapon or depending on the game state, a Crown of Life. Mind that certain heroes cannot use orbs without Mask of Death or the Weapon of the Dragonslayer.
Hero Builds (Part 3/3)
Intelligence With a Crown of Lore most heroes do not run out of mana anymore and can cast all their spells off cooldown (Spellbook excluded). A pure item build could look like this: Phoenix Staff -> The Stormbringer -> another Magic Wand, if need for mana, or and item that grants more attackspeed. Summons with and without Spellbook The Research Center contains multiple upgrades that increase the power of your summons. With 2 or more such spells on your hero it is worth it at some point in the midgame to invest in these upgrades. The meta build looks to start with a Phoenix Staff or Wand of Necromancy for early game feed and mana to summon. Then you get your Spellbook, upgrade 2 summons to level 4 and then mixing it up with the summon upgrades. In the late game, after all researches are done, you can look for a Scythe of Elune in the Dragon Roost. Damage Spellbook Phoenix Staff -> Spellbook (Q W E R to level 4) -> second staff (Archus, Greatstaff of Antonidas for hero kills, Wand of Weakening for unit farm) -> Senariox Secret After you maxed out your damage spells you can either go with summons or aquire a Heart of Deathwing from the Dragon Roost. After learning these basics, feel free to experiment with you own builds, that could include some secret items (which i can't mention here for obvious reasons).
Items
Army Support The 2 most important items to support your army are the Orb of Perserverance and the Masterscroll. The recipes for these and more powerful items can be found in the Goblin Laboratory. Later in the game the Orb can be upgraded (check the recipe). Wand of Negation grants your Hero a way to dispell debuffs and Summoned Units. List of other useful items : Healing Wards, Moon Shard, Arcane Shard, Beast/Ghost/Speed Scroll, Dust of Appearance/Crystal Ball, Amulet of Spell Shield, Runed Bracers (tooltips!). Hero Support Another way to play the game is to go for items. Strength Heroes should start with Merizid's Fiery Cloak and Agility Heroes with Charm of the Wind. A Crown of Life can increase the survivability of your Hero. After these you may want to look for one of the legendary weapons/magical wands and the powerful items of the Blue Dragon Roost. Intellience Heroes should use the Arcane Spellbook (constructed by a worker) to either go for an army of Summoned Units or multiple damage spells. A Crown of Lore will give your Hero the necessary mana. There is even some items like the Scythe of Elune that generate more summons. All summons can be upgraded in the Research Center. The tooltips of the magical wands, legendary weapons and hidden items can be found in the following quests.

Attack buffs on Heroes
Since there has been a lot of confusion about Orb Effects and other attack buffers, i decided to explain those specifically for Hero Push. There is three different kind of attack buffers: Orb Effects obtained by certain items and then Legendary Weapons and abilities split in active (Frost Arrow, Exploding Arrow) and passive (Cleaving Attack). Active abilities have the highest priority. Out of the Orb effects, which are the second priority, Lifesteal provided by Mask of Death and Weapon of the Dragonslayer have the highest. The other orbs have the same and their position in the inventory determinates which one is active (top left = prio 1, bottom right = prio 6). Passive abilities have the lowest priority. Last but not least i want to mention that if Naisha the Huntress of Elune uses any Orb effect without Lifesteal she will still display an attack animation but no missile/damage will be done. The Dark Ranger without Lifesteal will lose the additional attacks of multi shot and apply the Orb effect on the target.
