Introduction
Reign of Chaos is a renownedly imbalanced game, way more than The Frozen Throne has ever been. Across the years, hence, its community had the urge to balance the game out for the custom games and tournament environments via map customization. So, drawing inspiration from the past and making sure to leave unit balance unaltered, it felt necessary to apply some quality of life changes and bug fixes, as well as other changes mainly concerning item drops and map setup based on race-specific scenarios.
QoL and Bug Fixes
• Updated the whole map to match with the LV version made for TFT. Improved terrain visuals, yet retained the isles unique to ROC.
Item Drops
• Book of the dead no longer drops from any shop when a HU player starts on the right or left (except for HU vs NE).
Map Setup
• HU vs Orc: the HU doesn't start on the left when the Orc is at the top.
• HU vs UD: the UD always starts next to the HU natural expansion.
• HU vs RH/RU, UD vs RU: RDM never starts next to the natural expansion of the opponent.
• HU vs RO: the Orc never starts at the top and doesn't start on the right when the HU is at the top.
• Orc vs Orc/UD: the Orc never starts at the top.
• Orc vs RH/RO: removed cross positions when the Orc doesn’t start at the top.
• NE vs non-Elf: the non-Elf can either be cross position to the NE or close both to the shop and the NE natural expansion. The Orc always has a chance to start at the top.
• 2vs2 games: Orcs never start at the top.
