Quest Log (F9)

The Humans Start
The Plague is progressing, and the town won't be able to hold much longer. Flee the town, choose a class, and base with a builder or become one yourself until the Plague dies out. Don't dare die or leave the safety of a Builder's base; you will just bolster The Plagues undead army by becoming one of them. Once the timer in the upper right expires, the Plague will start to die out.
The Diseased
As a human, there is a good chance you may aquire the disease from being near a zombie. This disease is permanent, however there is still hope. To get rid of the disease you may go to a Health Fountian, drink a Health Potion, or get healed by a Priest. While the disease will not kill you, it will bring you down, and keep you down, at 2 health, slowly over time. To aquire Health Potions, buy one from a shop or have an Alchemist make you one.
Gold and Shops
Gold is gained from killing zombies, or for the Builder; it can be obtained from building a Merchant to give themselves gold per minute. Gold can be spent at a Builder's Merchant building or from 1 of 4 Traveling Salesmen, both sell the same equipment. Traveling Salesmen can be located from typing -shops, all four will get pinged on the map. When two or more of the same item are purchased, they can combine into a greater item. For example, two Claws of Attack +20 combine into a Claws of Attack +40, to save inventory space.
Life After Death
If you hero dies, you now work for the Plague as an undead, ressurected, mindless Greater Zombie. You have several new abilities and items. Abilities are mainly used for offensive tactics while the new items you have are for utility. One item called "Place Body Sack" let's you create a Body Sack that can be used to produce normal Zombies, it should be put in a safe place immediately, you can only ever place one. On death, a Greater Zombie will be revived in 30 seconds.
The Plague Start
As the Plague, anything that dies becomes a zombie under your control. Start with choosing a hero to transform into and then killing everything in this human city; to get a fair amount of zombies. After leaving the city, focus on obtaining Zombie Spawns in corners of the map, not yet primarly killing humans until all Zombie Spawns have been captured via sending a unit to walk on them. Every zombie you gain provides 1 gold to be spent on zombie upgrades at the Zombie Researcher, accessed by pressing the F8 key on your keyboard. The Zombie Spawns also provide gold when captured.
Zombie Heroes
When you start out, you have four heroes to choose from off of your Greater Zombie selector hero. Each one of these heroes has a different set of abilities. Your choices are the Faceless Void, Succubus, Abomination, and Flesh Golem. The Abomination has great survivability with break down, a ranged attack, and huge amounts of burst damage after he gets Enrage and absorbs enough zombies with his Absorb spell. The Flesh Golem has amazing nukes with his slam abilities, but only at a close range. It becomes unstoppable with Harden (taking no damage when activated and increasing health regain) and with its Imbued Armor skill. The Faceless void is all about reviving dead zombies then buffing them with Spirit Link, making all zombies last longer in general. Phase Walk will put all zombies invisible and make them stack on each other. The Succubus has the best nuking power, and the ultimate of being able to Mind Control units and heroes, she can even buff zombies attack speed with her Frenzy spell. Mind Control is a great ability when used with creativity. You must choose a hero to level up and get abilities. If your hero does die, it will be revived in 60 seconds.
Zombie Spawns
Now that you're out of the city, focus on getting the Zombie Spawns and killing anything living for gold before killing the remaining player hero villagers. The Zombie Spawns will give you gold and will create comptuer controlled zombies to find remaining players. Start with capturing the upper right and lower right at the same time, they will be easy. After you have those two, capture the lower left with at least 50 to 100 zombies, it will be the hardest. Capture a Zombie Spawn by sending a unit into it. Remember to spend any gold you aquire on upgrades your for your zombies at the Zombie Researcher that you can only access by pressing the F8 key on your keyboard.
Zombie Researcher
The Zombie Researcher is a unit that provides upgrades to the Plague's zombies for gold. The Zombie Researcher is located by pressing the F8 key on your keyboard. Gold is aquired whenever the Plague aquires a zombie or a Zombie Spawn. A normal zombie provides 1 gold, while a player zombie from a hero gives 20 gold. Zombie Spawns give 100 gold. It is probably best the research to increase the Plague's zombie's attack damage first, then researching the other upgrades later.

Author's description

Original in-game description by Pyroflame
A plague has seemed to pop up out of nowhere in your quiet hometown. You and six other villagers have decided to leave the town, because you know it won't be able to hold for much longer. Just maybe you can all get away and take refuge for the duration.
