Basics
Mini-games will be randomly selected. Win the most mini-games out of a series of eight to win the game.
Credits
This map was created by me, TheZizz. I did all the actual work, but was assisted with gameplay advice and numerous ideas from Mech_1000. Special thanks goes to JuberMAN, SnS-Ramses, Human(Drunk), Ultima_King, NinjaSirHalinn, and Cheesyflavored for their suggestions and devoted testing.
Changes
Version 0.25a - Added 9 new mini-games. - A new tie-breaker system has been implemented. Game sets that end in a tie will be extended until a winner is declared. - The game speed is now locked to fast speed, because of stability issues with certain games. - The Kaboom Room has received a slight overhaul. The flames now fire from the center in a linear path, and douse in the surrounding water. - In Hot Mortar, fixed a bug where the mortar would not explode at random intervals. - In The Clean-up Crew, fixed a bug where the indicator would flash without a consequent dispelling. - Forest Fire, formerly known as Hungry Hungry Ancients, has received another overhaul. The antagonist is now a spreading fire, and the trees are randomly generated. - In The Uprising, peasants are now evenly distributed amongst the players, and bear the color of their target. - In Hungry Hungry Kodos, formerly known as Feeding Time, children no longer appear in the first wave. - In Raider Relay, fixed a bug that could potentially end the game. - In Treant Valley, fixed a bug involving incorrect spawning. - The Skeleton Sonata has been tweaked a bit. The arena no longer has corners, and the skeletons appear less frequently (but in bigger groups).
Peon Pandemonium
Peon Pandemonium The lovable orc peons find themselves in a sticky situation! Avoid a barrage of catapult rocks for as long as possible. As time passes, more and more catapults spawn into play. Advice Though it receives more fire, the center is generally the best place to be, because you have more time to anticipate and dodge the rocks. It loses its advantage as the game progresses, however, as the catapults become too numerous to track. TheZizz's Comments As the first mini-game I created, this particular one will always have a special place in my mind.
The Rat Maze
The Rat Maze The cheese beckons, and the rats have answered its smelly call. Outmaneuver a pack of hungry spiders, and claim this glorious bounty. Advice Since rats cannot hope to outrun their vicious predators, it is good to anticipate the spiders' movements, so you are not forced to run. Failing that, however, your best bet may be a pre-emptive run for the cheese. TheZizz's Comments This game probably stems from my childhood infatuation with mazes and labyrinths.
The Kaboom Room
The Kaboom Room An explosive death awaits the slow-footed in this treacherous confinement. Avoid the flames as long as possible. As time passes, more and more flames will form. Advice Remember that anyone who dies in The Kaboom Room will explode, killing anyone else in close proximity; stay away from weakened players. On the flipside, this game offers a good opportunity to kill a leading player. TheZizz's Comments Hopefully, this game will be more fun now with its changes.
Hot Mortar
Hot Mortar The reckless dwarves have devised a brutal variation of the classic game Hot Potato. Pass the mortar along before it explodes! Be the last one to stay in one piece to win. Advice If there's a specific player you are after, this mini-game is for you! With experience and a bit of luck, you can directly kill a player by holding the mortar just long enough before firing. The timer on the mortar is random, of course, so it's a risk. TheZizz's Comments Hot Mortar was, by far, the most challenging mini-game to make. I had quite a task ironing out the bugs. In fact, the inclusion of computer player support in Uther Party was largely because of this mini-game, and the need to frequently test it with multiple players.
The Clean-up Crew
The Clean-up Crew A troupe of exterminators threatens the habitat of the poor, misunderstood ghouls. Stay on the precious blight as long as you can! The priests will dispel the blight from under you as the game progresses. Advice In this game, it is best to keep moving. The priests aim their dispels exclusively at locations of ghouls, so remaining in constant motion will help you escape in time. TheZizz's Comments This is one of my favorites, though I'm not really sure why.
Forest Fire
Forest Fire Some careless smoker has set the forest ablaze! Faced with death, you must now escape the doomed woodland. Advice The spread of fire cannot be obstructed. Pay attention to where the large fires are, and keep your distance. TheZizz's Comments The idea for a forest fire came from Mech_1000. The game itself may be a little shallow, however.
Roadkill Challenge
Roadkill Challenge Drivers don't stop for anyone these days. Stave off their legendary negligence and reach the end! You have 2 minutes to complete this task before rush hour. Advice Be sure to steer clear of other players. They may block you and throw off your timing. Also, the gap between the two cars at the end can, in fact, fit a murloc, but it is very difficult. TheZizz's Comments This Frogger clone is far from original, but I am happy with it anyway.
Covert Kitty
Covert Kitty The fearsome Doom Guards are on a ruthless search-and-destroy mission. Elude their grasp with the aid of night, but be wary! Dawn is fast approaching. Advice A mad dash for the goal could be fruitful under certain circumstances, but the Doom Guards' Cripple spell will stop you very quickly. If possible, wait for other players to draw the Doom Guards' attention before running. TheZizz's Comments I rather like this one, because I believe it's one of the most balanced mini-games.
Polymorph Ring
Polymorph Ring The powers of polymorph are needed in this deadly prison. Fend off gigantic creatures using only your magic, and outlast your opponents. Advice Save your mana if you can afford to; let others cast Polymorph for you. Also, it is possible (albeit risky) to lead the creatures to your opponents. TheZizz's Comments I asked myself, "What can I do with Polymorph?" What you see here is the end result.
The Tauren Tragedy
The Tauren Tragedy The proud, noble tauren face elimination at the hands of overwhelming numbers. Be the last one standing in this deathtrap! Advice You can either use your abilities for self-preservation, or you can use them to deal direct damage to your opponents. Ration your mana carefully, and don't let yourself get surrounded. TheZizz's Comments This mini-game was inspired by GodMatik's impressive footman surrounding techniques. Mountain King not included.
The Uprising
The Uprising Mutiny is in the air, and the day of the peasants has finally come! Protect your king's castle from these barbaric and ungrateful dogs. The number of peasants increases with the number of players. Advice Obviously, you must fire upon any peasant that gets close. However, it is a good idea to reduce the number of peasants by focusing most of your fire on one peasant at a time. TheZizz's Comments At one point in its design, the peasants in The Uprising were unkillable (though still shootable). Obviously, that is no longer the case.
Dark Forest
The Dark Forest - The dark forest houses creatures of great evil. Use your wits and your shapeshifting abilities to avoid their icy grasp. Advice Abominations are more common than gargoyles, but gargoyles are much quicker and deadlier. As such, the storm crow form is better suited for emergency situations and should be used sparingly. TheZizz's Comments The balancing of this one will be very difficult. Hopefully, storm crow form exploits are nonexistent.
Hungry Hungry Kodos
Hungry Hungry Kodos In a grim spectacle, the orcs have subjected their kodos to a fight for survival. Eat all the pigs you can, but do not touch anything else! The biggest glutton shall emerge triumphant. Advice Don't be too hasty now; you don't want to devour any tainted meat. Also, beware of obstructions that could block your vision, and consequently make you eat the other white meat. TheZizz's Comments This mini-game is a little more frantic than I had hoped. I still enjoy it, though.
Raider Relay
Raider Relay Life isn't easy for the green guys. Complete a harrowing obstacle course using your wits, your nets, and your goblin ties. Advice Lure the bears, then ensnare them off to the side. The hippogryphs can be dealt with in a similar manner using the middle platform, but doing so leaves your zeppelin open to attack. TheZizz's Comments This mini-game may be a bit too difficult for many people. Admittedly, it didn't turn out quite like I hoped it would.
Treant Valley
Treant Valley The trees have endured the excrements of others for far too long! Avoid their chlorophyll-fueled justice as long as possible. More and more treants will awaken as time passes. Advice Trees will glow green for a brief period before forming into treants. Keep a close eye on the trees, and use their slow movement speed to your advantage. TheZizz's Comments The premise of this game is extremely simple, which is why I like it so much.
The Skeleton Sonata
The Skeleton Sonata It is the priests' turn to die! Ward off the skeletons as long as possible using your dispel magic. Advice Relatively speaking, mana is not a big issue in this one. The important thing is to budget your cooldown time by dispelling only when you need to. Also, try to get as many as possible in one cast, without helping your opponents too much. TheZizz's Comments Simple and tough, this game stands as one of my favorites.
Jump Rope
Jump Rope The trolls' obsession with acrobatics has turned against them! Using the 'S' key, jump the rope as long as possible. As time passes, the rope will get faster and faster. Advice Depending on your latency, you may have to compensate for the delay time of the jumps. TheZizz's Comments I think this is one of the more unique mini-games, in relation to what is normally seen in Warcraft III maps.
Stop and Go
Stop and Go The cuddly seals are at the command of the omnipotent traffic controller. Go when he gives you the green light, and stop when he gives you the red light! The winner is the first to reach the end. Advice Your purge magic can be a useful tool, but you only get one cast. Use it wisely, and be sure not to cast it while the light is red. TheZizz's Comments The idea for this mini-game was originally conceived by Mech_1000 (as a Starcraft map). He has permitted me to use it here.
Push the Ogre
Push the Ogre The knights are faced with a test of strength and patience! Push the obese and volatile ogre to your circle, but beware of gaseous retaliation. Advice Anticipate the gas attack ahead of time, instead of simply waiting for the signal. Though it comes at random intervals, there is some consistency in its frequency. TheZizz's Comments This mini-game is a variation on one of Mech_1000's ideas. He has permitted me to use it here.
The Spike Pit
The Spike Pit The simple villagers of Warcraft find themselves in an evil wizard's spike pit! Stay on the safe spot as long as you can, and keep up with it. As the game progresses, the spot will move faster and faster. Advice Though random to a certain extent, the path of the safe spot is very much a circular one. Take care, however; if it hits a boundary, it will abruptly turn around in the opposite direction. TheZizz's Comments Like several others, the basic idea for this mini-game was thought up by Mech_1000.
The Salamander Sizzle
The Salamander Sizzle The mighty salamander is a very aggressive reptile, even to others of its own kind. Vanquish your opponents with firey disposition! Advice Spewing a fireball costs 75 mana, though your mana regenerates very quickly. Be sure to use the mushrooms for cover wherever possible. TheZizz's Comments Here is another game that was designed by Mech_1000, and implemented by me.
Obey Archimonde
Obey Archimonde What Archimonde says, goes! Follow his lead, or else. As the game progresses, his assortment of moves will increase, as will the speed of those moves. Advice Hotkeys help tremendously in this one, especially with the Bloodlust and Unholy Frenzy moves. Learn them, and your chances of survival will increase. TheZizz's Comments The concept of this mini-game was suggested by several people. It is a staple of the Mario Party series, and thus has a fitting place in Uther Party!
Smite-A-Mole
Smite-A-Mole The Paladins will not sit idly by whilst sin goes unpunished! Smatter the bottom-feeding usurpers will holy retribution. The first Paladin to advance a level wins. Advice Your Holy Light spell can be used for decisive, long-range kills. Don't hesitate to use it. TheZizz's Comments This game is, perhaps, a little too mindless for my tastes.
Horse Race
Horse Race The wizards have decided to race their trusty steeds. Be the first to cross the finish, and use the 'ESCAPE' key to boost yourself. Advice You only get 4 speed boosts, so conserve them as best as you can. If you use them too quickly (or not enough), you will fall behind. TheZizz's Comments This little gem is a favorite of mine. It's not as easy as you might think!
The Masquerade
The Masquerade A troupe of vampires have taken residence amongst unsuspecting townsfolk. Feed at night, but return to your shelter before sunrise. Advice If you do not feed, you will starve before long. The amount of sustenance available is never enough to feed all the players; there will always be at least one who does not get a meal. TheZizz's Comments The concept of vampires is a bit overused, I think. But it is a very interesting concept, and it works well here.
