Middle Earth Risk 8.2 (K)

Overview

Middle Earth Risk 8.2 (K) is a Warcraft III map that adapts the board game Risk to a Tolkien-inspired setting, with 12 players split into two teams on a 192x192 battlefield. Players capture the towns of each country, and holding a whole country raises income and brings in new troops. Several modes cover free-for-all, no-pact play, alliances, and team games of two to four, while submodes adjust starting gold, base income, fog of war, and the win threshold, which can drop to 80 or 90 percent of non-neutral buildings. Chat commands handle allies, camera distance, and whether units ignore hostile neutral creeps. The loading screen notes that the version is credited to Kamulec and builds on earlier work by other authors.
